in class the other day my teacher was telling us about pro ana sites. pro ana = pro anorexia. what the hell. there was an exhibition called thirty two kilos, and a photographer digitally enhanced the pictures to make the models look like sticks, literally.
it made me cry it was so sad
i dont know why stuff like that is out there. when i googled it to find the exhibition, so many pro ana sites came up. it makes me so sad to think that there are so many people out there who honestly feel that anorexia is the way to go about losing weight. its so brainwashing and cult-like and why people buy into it beyond me. the one blog was from a girl who wants to be a model, and complaining about how her manager and agent wants her to eat. the comments she got were from people who were so proud of her for not eating. they called her an inspiration.
it just makes me so sad that there are people like this.
it makes me sad that people feel like they need to weigh 77 pounds to feel good about themselves.
they call it thinspiration. strive to be thin.
i think movies should stop being made, magazines should stop being published until people stop feeling like the models and actresses are the people they should look like.
so i'm going to stop feeling inadequate, and ugly and every other negative word i call myself.
